Greenling was born from the mind of Mason Arnold, a University of Texas graduate and Austin resident who wanted to help foster a change in the way people eat as well as protect produce from harmful chemicals.
“I found it hard to understand how we had gotten to where we were,” said Arnold. “So we spent months researching, interviewing, and testing ideas of how to play a role in fixing the food system.”
Greenling fosters local farmers’ means to use organic pesticides and delivers wholesome foods to the people. “The award-winning combination of a high-tech business centered around one of the basics of our lives - our food - quickly grew into a thriving community of people supporting this simple, but amazing idea,” Arnold said.
Customers can choose from a “Local Box,” with the week’s freshest produce, or customers can build their own basket from a variety of vegetables available that week. Greenling also provides “Recipe Kits,” which come with enough groceries for five meals for two people with vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. Greenling also lets customers build their own “Pantry Box” that includes everything from farm fresh eggs to vegetables to fresh bread.
