Regent Property Group Mascot “Bella” Issues Urgent Call for Austin Homes

At Home in Austin

When Bella, the canine mascot of Regent Property Group, discovered animal shelters were raining cats and dogs after the recent Austin-area fires, she immediately sounded a search for Austin homes: “It’s up to Austin humans to help the animals of Central Texas right meow. Come to the Austin Pets Alive! adoption event this weekend, September 24 and 25!”

Bella, a six-year-old chocolate lab, enlisted the help of her person, Regent Property Group Founder Brian Talley. “I’m proud of Bella for helping other animals experience the happiness of a forever home,” says Talley. “In the six … well, 42 years … I’ve known her, she has always been happy and loving. That she wants to help other animals have that happiness demonstrates her character. She loves everybody!”

Talley transcribed this plea from Bella’s Southwest Austin Command Center, housed in the corner of her living room:

“When I’m not fetching a ball, chasing my tail, or working my charm for treats, there are tons of other fun things about living in Austin – like off-leash parks, dog-friendly restaurants, and parades held for my four-legged friends. One of my favorites is the non-profit Austin Pets Alive! which has saved countless dogs and cats from euthanasia and found them forever families.

You may know a lot of animals lost their homes in the recent fires. The shelters took them in, but the animals who were already waiting to be adopted now don’t have a place to go. But - what I heard through the neighborhood barking chain has me so excited my tail has been wagging for hours!

APA! is hosting ‘Central Texas Survivor: Friend, Family, Forever,’ their biggest adoption event ever to adopt out 200 healthy, adorable, and soon to be happy dogs and cats over one weekend. It will be in
South Austin at the Sunset Valley Petsmart at 5207 Brodie Lane from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., September 24 and 25. APA! is only charging a $10 adoption fee at the event. Who can resist a lifetime of wet noses or fluffy tails for that price?

I feel so lucky to share my home (and when I’m extra lucky, the bed) with Brian and his family so I hope lots of other Central Texas families will go to this event and adopt forever furry friends, both dogs and cats. (I’m actually friends with a few cats - they are just so snuggly!)”

Talley says Bella sealed the call for help with her paw print to make it official. “She couldn’t resist adding that if anyone wants a doggie play date, she’s up for it. At heart, she is such a party animal!”
