Upscale homes for sale in Davenport Ranch
It’s sister community, Davenport West is immersed just NW of Davenport Ranch, just west of 360 and east and south the lake, and nestled within Rivercrest’s waterfront community.
Although merely minutes from shopping and services along 360 and the Aboretum area, Davenport Ranch is home to Davenport Village, a relaxed core of the subdivision, hosting 44 upscale vendors, including two banks and Salt Lick 360, sister-restaurant to the to-die-for barbeque staple headquarted in Dripping Springs.
Started in the mid-80s, Davenport’s building took off in many stages, providing a variety of housing styles, sizes and prices. Ranging from just under 2,000 square feet to over 9,000, Davenport’s homes mostly originate circa the mid-90s. Prices start at $449,000 but soon jet up, with over half of the available homes listing for over $1,000,000, and about a third over $2,000,000. Davenport West’s and Davenport Ranch’s homes that border the Austin Country Club’s celebrated golf course are the most expensive, escalating as high as $4,390,000.
The Austin Country Club, cradling the closest S-curve to downtown of Lake Austin, holds a long history as the oldest golf club in Texas, as well as creating PGA golf champions since the club’s inception in 1899. Located on perhaps one of the most stunning spots in the area, and as intro to the club is tough to come by and membership is by invitation only, Davenport neighbors are bound to mix with members to create entrée for die-hard golfers.
Besides Davenport’s location of rolling hills, proximity to water and downtown, and tightly-knit homeowner’s association, it shares the best schools Austin has to offer. Elementary schoolers attend Exemplary rated Bridge Point and the US Blue Ribbon-awarded Forest Trail Elementary Schools, Middle school students attend Hill County Middle School, another US Blue Ribbon School, and High Schoolers attend the nationally recognized Westlake High School.
Davenport West students attend Bridge Point, Exemplary West Ridge Middle School, and esteemed Westlake High, and are in close proximity to the highly prestigious, private St. Stephen’s Episcopal School.
Despite the hum of Capital of Texas Hwy/360, Davenport also borders the West Basin Wilderness Preserve, a 227-acre nature preserve consisting of 2 ½ miles of hiking trails through woodland, grassland, and streamside habitats. To keep the area pristine, neither pets nor bikes nor picnics are permitted. Entrance is free and the preserve hosts a gift shop/community center.
