Northwest Austin Real Estate
Northwest Austin starts just outside downtown and extends to the edge of Texas Hill Country. This part of the city features beautiful view properties at every turn, and is generally known as Austin's most scenic quadrant. Visual spledour here is matched by a stong business and retail community, affording great shopping at spots like The Domain and The Aboretum. Several high-tech companies are also based in Northwest Austin, attracting many skilled workers to the area, and boosting demand for fine homes. The Northwest Austin real estate area is located east of highway 620, South of Spicewood Springs Road, West of the Mopac Expressway (Highway 1), and North of Highway 2222.
As the area expands, home builders have been careful to preserve large greenbelts between communities, and along the southern edge of the quadrant. 
This kind of development has afforded privacy and undeveloped tranquility for many properties in the area, and local residents are trying to keep it that way. Many of Austin's most expensive properties are located in the northwest quadrant. It's common to see homes listed for well above $10 million, offering scenic acreage, horse facilites, guest houses, ballrooms, luxurious studies, and floor to ceiling windows overlooking Lake Travis.
