Escape to home - Travis Country
Travis Country’s diversity of home styles and sizes is largely in part due to two building cycles, in the mid 70s through early 1980s, and then again in the mid-90s to 2000 when the community was fully built out.
Being just off the crossroads of two major roadways, 290 and Mopac, the convenience factor of Travis Country communities is a major perk for neighbors, but within the subdivision, would be hard to realize the proximity. This is due to the development’s highly celebrated green spaces and parkland that meanders through the center of the neighborhood. A stocked pond, a community and nature center, tennis courts, three swimming pools and nature trails accompany these green spaces.
Also of note is an access point from Travis Country to the Barton Creek Greenbelt, a 7.5 mile trail that starts at Zilker Park and goes north just west of the Capital of Texas Highway. This extensive greenbelt is the pride of the city of Austin, and offers extensive trails for hikers and mountain bikers.
Convenient to downtown and the Hill Country, Travis Country’s subdivisions garner a 15 minute commute to the city center, and are in very close proximity to extensive shopping at Sunset Valley, Westgate, and Brodie Oaks Shopping Centers.
Homes in Travis Country start at $265,000 and go up to $400,000. These homes range in size from 1,600 to 3,000 square feet, and all offer at least 3 bedrooms and 2 baths. Although the age of homes vary, price per square feet hovers in the $140-$180 range.
Travis Country West prices are a bit higher, and are larger as well, ranging from 4-5 bedrooms as the norm, and list for @$115 per square foot for over 3,500 square foot homes. Homes here were started in 2002, and share larger lots than their originating neighborhood. Both subdivisions share the same school district, enjoying Recognized-rated Oak Hill Elementary and Clint Small Middle Schools. Academically Acceptable Austin High downtown, with its diversity-rich student body and curriculum is the destination for 9-12th graders.
